Parent
Camp Carowanis provides parents with a time of rest in complete confidence. Campers are supervised by a team of mostly TD1 instructors and a 24-hour medical team. Fred provides financial assistance to each child who attends camp and increases the contribution for less fortunate families.
Teenager
A stay at Camp Carowanis is an opportunity to make meaningful and lasting friendships with other teens who share the same daily challenges. It is also an opportunity to learn more about oneself and about managing one’s diabetes. Exciting excursions and memorable moments are part of the journey.
Child
At Camp Carowanis, children gain independence and realize that they are not alone in living with diabetes. It is a place where no young person feels different. It is also a great opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy a variety of fun activities.

Motivation : J’ai eu la chance de grandir, depuis mes 8 ans, entouré de gens vivant avec le diabète tellement inspirant pour moi, remplie de joie de vivre et possédant plein d’outils pour nous accompagner dans cette grande aventure qu’est de vivre avec le diabète. J’ai maintenant le plus grand plaisir de redonner à mon tour et d’accompagner ces enfants courageux et leur famille bienveillante.
Motivation : Quand ma fille avait 8 ans, diagnostiqué avec le diabète de type 1, j’ai tellement été rassurée par toute l’équipe de Fred et du camp Carowanis. Être bénévole me permet de redonner à mon tour. En toute simplicité, j’écoute, j’observe et au moment opportun, je tends la main et je rassure à mon tour pour que chacun découvre leur plein potentiel. C’est toujours un privilège de collaborer avec l'équipe de Fred et de Carowanis.
