Extraordinary Team, Common Mission

Janie Bédard alias Shamane
General Manager

First a camper and now General Manager, she will be back this summer to carry out projects close to her heart, while promoting the five objectives of Camp Carowanis. Her goal is to share her love for Camp Carowanis, so that all campers can enjoy a memorable experience.

Stéphane Richard alias Mango
Director of strategy and partnerships

Mango, a member of the Camp Carowanis team since 2017, has a wealth of experience in camps for children living with diabetes, dating back to 1999. In addition, Mango is a past president of the Canadian Camp Association. He looks forward to returning to camp to share his expertise, while ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and has positive experiences. His warm personality and dedication make him a valuable member of our team.

Jeanne Huchette-Correia alias Scooby-Doo
Camp Manager

Since her first summer as a camper in 2011, Scooby-Doo has had the opportunity to flourish in a variety of roles at camp. These include counselor, counselor leader, program leader and programming coordinator. Always ready to discover and try new activities, Scooby-Doo is committed to ensuring that campers have a magical time during all camp activities. Currently in her third year of a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Preschool (2021-2025), she is determined to make camp Carowanis as incredible as possible.

Angélique Aubuchon alias Ukulélé
Assistant Camp Manager

Ukulélé has been thriving at camp since 2008. She started out as a camper, then became a counselor before being promoted to leader and camp life coordinator in 2022. A graduate of the Baccalauréat en action culturelle (2019-2022) and a second-year student in the Baccalauréat en enseignement en adaptation scolaire et sociale (2022-2026), she can’t wait to share her passion with campers and colleagues alike. She is determined to provide an unforgettable experience for all campers.

Florence Savard alias Pastille
Head nurse

Pastille made her camp debut in 2018 as a nursing student. Not having had the chance to attend camp in her youth, Pastille immediately got the bug for this magical place. After graduating from college with a diploma in nursing, Pastille couldn’t stay away from camp for long, so she worked as a team leader in 2021, 2022 and 2023 on the nursing team. A graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at Université Laval (2020-2022), she will join the 2023-2024 management team as head nurse! She’ll be looking after campers’ safety from morning till night (and even through the night!) to ensure they have the best summer ever at camp.

Louis-Charles Perrault alias Luigi
Site and Facilities Manager

Luigi has been with Camp Carowanis for several years now. First a camper, then a leader, he has also held the position of counselor, passing through that of trip leader. In 2017, he joined the maintenance team to discover his love of manual labor. This experience in maintenance allowed him to combine this new passion, his love for camp and his desire to give back to Carowanis.

Luigi is now in charge of the site and facilities. As such, he is responsible for the maintenance and safety of the facilities throughout the year, as well as overseeing the site during the off-season. Luigi has become to Carowanis what Hagrid is to Hogwarts.

Anya Bourgeois alias Caribou
Deputy Director of Programming

Since 2018, Caribou has grown and stood out at Camp Carowanis. She has held various roles, including counselor, activity leader, programming coordinator, and program manager, and now serves as the Assistant Director of Programming. Her boundless imagination allows campers to enjoy magical experiences. With a bachelor’s degree in Applied Politics and International Relations, and as a candidate for a master’s degree in Administration and Marketing Communication, her background is a valuable asset in contributing to the camp’s vision and the quality of its programs.

Sam Lalancette alias Lemon
Operations Manager

A registered dietitian-nutritionist since 2023, Lemon has stood out at Camp Carowanis since joining the team in 2021. Through his expertise in nutrition and his passion for the well-being of campers, he has contributed to creating meals tailored to everyone’s needs. With his caring approach and skills, Lemon plays a vital role in promoting a healthy and welcoming environment at Camp Carowanis. By leading the kitchen team, he ensures that campers and staff have an enriching experience while developing essential dietary skills.
